There are a plethora of toner cartridges for sale on eBay. The biggest savings usually occur on laser toners for older model devices that are no longer commonly used. Some cartridges are expired according to the date printed on the box, but these can still function correctly. As long as it is described as brand new, sealed in the box, in the original bag with the pull tab intact. However, open and previously used toners can dry up when exposed to the air, so do not purchase these.

Utilize their search feature, using the toner cartridge number and printer brand name to find the correct replacement unit. Sort listings by price plus shipping and compare the lowest priced item on eBay to that of several other online retailers or office supply stores. Review seller feedback before buying. Avoid listings for refilled or re-manufactured toners.  A search using the word “genuine” will usually eliminates these listings. You can also try including words like “sealed” and “new” for better results. Look for items with real photos of the item so you can see the condition of the box and know what to expect to receive.
