You can often score unadvertised discounts and coupon codes if you simply ask for them. Many vendors are willing to lower the price for a good customer to encourage repeat business; it never hurts to ask. If you find a lower cost elsewhere, quote this price to your account manager and ask if they will match it. If they still seem unwilling to negotiate, threaten to switch to the competitor. This will often prompt your current vendor to offer you an even better deal. You can try to negotiate a certain percentage off every order or specials like free shipping. It costs less to keep a customer that you already have than it does to find a new one, so most companies are willing to negotiate for your business.
